During his fellowship at the Fortius Clinic, London, next to internationally renowned Mr Sam Church, Mr Jonathon Lavelle and Mr Andy Williams, he acquired experience in the management of sports knee injuries in elite athletes as well as anterior knee pain and patella instability. Fortius Clinic has the privilege of treating the top Premiership football and rugby players in the UK as well international VIPs.
During his time with Mr Spalding and Mr Thompson in Coventry he developed further experience in the full spectrum of complex knee pathologies, multiligament reconstructions, complex meniscal repair techniques and meniscal transplantation, complex realignment surgery and advanced cartilage regeneration and reimplantation procedures.
In Bristol under the auspices of Mr Jonathon Eldridge he developed further his interest in patella instability, and patellofemoral arthroplasty with complex referrals from all over the UK and beyond. Mr Eldridge is one of the leading world figures in trochleoplasty. Working with Mr Andrew Porteous was a great opportunity to experience the management of complex knee arthroplasty as Bristol is a tertiary referral centre of excellence.
He has obtained further skills and knowledge from several national and international visiting fellowships to world leaders in the field of sports knee injuries. He visited twice the International Knee and Joint Centre to visit Dr Charlie Brown at Abu Dhabi, UAE; Professor Christian Fink and Dr Christian Hoser in Innsbruck, Austria, with their extensive experience in skiing injuries and pioneering work on use of quadriceps tendon graft in ligament reconstructions; and Basingstoke Hospital, UK, to obtain tips on complex knee realignment osteotomies.
